*** Are you religious ? What’s your religion? :??: **
Still oscillating between Agnosticism and Christianity. I pray often and try to go to the church, but i don’t do it every Sunday. I’ve also read the Bible, but only once, so i can’t say i’m religious.
*** Are you a strong-believing religious? :??: **
I’m not sure i’m understanding this one, as i don’t really see the difference between this one and the first question, but i guess my answer here is also a no.
*** Do you trust blindly the Bible/ Koran/ Torah ? :??: **
How can a follower of any of the Abrahamic religions not trust their own holy book? Maybe it has been modified (after more than 2 millenniums (around 1 and a half for the Koran), it would be surprising if it hadn’t), but i the basic teachings are still there, i suppose.
[On a side note: I have noticed that native English speakers usually place the adverb (« blindly » in this case) after the object in their sentences. It isn’t in yours, which makes it sound a little awkward]
*** What do you think of Holy Books transliteration from their original language into others ? :??:**
I don’t have any problem with transliteration, but if you meant translation i think it has its good and bad sides. It’s a good thing in that it enables people who don’t know the original language to read it, but sometimes a literal translation just isn’t possible. The dangers are that the original meaning may come out slightly or completely deformed in the language it’s been translated in.
[Note: Translating is expressing the same thing in a different language. Transliterating is writing down the same text using a different writing system than the original]
*** Are you against Atheism? And do you consider it as a religion ? :??: **
No. Everybody is free to believe whatever he or she wants to believe in IMO.
As for the second question, it all depends on your definition of the word « religion ». The definition i go by is « a lifestyle based on the teachings of either a deity/deities or a spiritual leader ». Atheists do not believe in any spiritual being(s) or follow any leader whatsoever, so Atheism isn’t a religion in my book.
*** For you, are or not science and religion opposite ? Why ? :??: **
Hmmm…Science hasn’t proved the existence of a supreme being, but it hasn’t been able to explain existence either until now, so i think it is possible to be a scientist and believe in one or multiple deities.
But then again, religion and science can conflict if the religion’s scriptures contain teachings that go against what science has proved right. So, i think it mostly depends on what religion we’re talking about and what its teachings are.
[Note: The literal translation of your question is: “Pour vous, sont ou pas la science et la religion opposés”. I guess you don’t need my help to figure out what the problem is with this sentence… ]
